The Long and The Short of It - Update

Dear Chris,

After attending author Alan Carroll's clinic demonstration of "The Long and Short of It" during the Maine All-Scale Narrow Gauge Show (March 22, Gray, ME). Alan mentioned in his demonstrations of narrowing the roof (page 47, lower left) the Stanley No90 Marking Gauge is out of production. He hadn't found a suitable replacement he could recommend to general hobbyists as "available" and "affordable". I happened upon this device while in the "strip wood - hobby tools" aisle at my local hobbyshop alongside the RC car & plane supplies. Windsor Propeller Company, Inc (Rancho Cordova CA 95741-0250) makes the MASTER AIRSCREW BALSA STRIPPER which seems to fit the requirements. Coincidentally, I received my Early Spring Micro-Mark catalog in the mail later in the day: Item No 14568 (photo attached) shows this as a new product retail priced at $9.75.

Please pass this along to Alan, and other interested folks, as an economical tool option for "bashing cars".
